In line with the Government’s roadmap, the Club reopened on Monday, 17 May 2021.
Members can still access the content that was added during the various lockdowns in “”, and we will continue to add more.
The General Committee also decided that the candidates they have agreed can be put forward for ballot in the coming months could be displayed on the Club’s website and this will continue for now: these can be found in “The Virtual Garrick” in “Garrick Candidates for Ballot” .
In “The Virtual Garrick”, there are various other categories - memorable moments in “Garrick Performances”, brainteasers in “Garrick Puzzles”, articles about the Club’s various collections in “Treasures from the Archive”, “Suggestions and Recommendations”, “Recipes” and “Cocktails”.
Many members have asked about the Club staff, so we decided to share a special recording with you, which can also be viewed on the Home page of “The Virtual Garrick” - From all of us to all of you.
In the main section of the website you are able to access all the latest Club information, as well as book places for Club events, contact other members, book bedrooms, make private party reservations and access information on the Club’s works of art and Library. We also have information on all our reciprocal Clubs that members are able to visit.
Garrick Library and Art Collections
The Library and Art Collections of the Club are now available in the public area of the website. Go to the “Public Entrance” and click the “Collections” link and follow this to the “Online Catalogue”. Here you can choose a combined search of both the Library and Art Collection, or chose just one or the other. The catalogue includes books, manuscripts and ephemera from the Library, together with paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, memorabilia, photographs and ceramics. To date there are upwards of 17,000 items, but as cataloguing continues this number will rise.
The Club has commissioned a second collection of postcards showing details of paintings from the art collection. These are in addition to the first collection, which includes details of paintings as well as items from the archive. All of the postcards are available individually and both sets are available in packs of a dozen, which cost £5.50 for a set of 12. Individual postcards cost £0.50 each.
The postcards are available from the Secretary’s Office. To download a PDF of the images, please see the item “” under “Latest News”.
